September 22nd 2017 Woodland Walk Improvement
The Discovery Centre recently had a delivery of a substantial pile of woodchips. The September activity task was to lay these woodchips on the somewhat muddy and slippery Woodland Walk path prior to the Lantern Walk later in October. So, on a sunny and rather warm late September day, members of the Friends group set about transporting the woodchips from the delivery site, to the Woodland Walk. Using three wheelbarrows, relays where set up and the pile of woodchips started slowly reducing in size as the chips where moved onto the path and raked into place by other members of the group.
After two hours of hard work the path was finally covered with the woodchips and the group members could finally have a well earned rest. Lets hope the people that attend the Lantern Walk appreciate the Friends group’s efforts.
