Practical Work Days for Volunteers

Practical Work Days for Volunteers

The usual suspects: Pete, Ange, John, Paulina, Gerry, Edwin, Steve, Brian and Brandon (Cynthia was taking the picture!)

Regular monthly volunteer sessions take place either in Haw Park Wood or Anglers Country Park and are scheduled for the 3rd. Wednesday of the month. Activities involve helping the local rangers with essential work in the woods and around the lake, tasks include clearing unwanted Himalayan Balsam, repairing benches, litter-picking, tree planting and clearing trails (all tools and equipment are provided). The sessions usually start at 10am and last about 2 hours.  Free parking permits (terms and conditions apply – ask for details) are issued so why not come along for the session, then have lunch in our cafe and afterwards, explore the reserves.  You will have a great day out. n.b. most sessions would probably not be suitable for children requiring supervision.
