Wednesday June 20th      ACTIVITY DAY

Our monthly activity day helping the Rangers for a couple of hours with essential work.

Meet at the Countryside Centre   10.00am

 

Tuesday July 3rd    ANNUAL AGM

We will also hold a fun quiz with prizes and incorporate a brief AGM. For the past couple of years this has been an enjoyable and well attended event .

Meet in the Countryside Centre   7.00pm  

 

Tuesday July 17th     ‘MERRY CITY’

Kevin Trickett, President of Wakefield Civic Society  looks at the history of Wakefield from an architectural perspective – with lots of illustrations.

Meet in the Countryside Centre   7.00pm

 

Wednesday July 18th      ACTIVITY DAY

Wednesday August 8th   NURSERY RHYME DAY

Family Fun Day organised by the Countryside Service. Come to the Centre to purchase your map and then go and meet the nursery rhyme characters.
Fun and games for all the family.This family fun event is supported by Friends of HPW&W.  Our theme is Ring a ring of roses

Start from the Countryside Centre between 10.30am and 2.00pm

A small fee will apply. Children must be accompanied by an adult

 

Wednesday August 15th      ACTIVITY DAY

Our monthly activity day helping the Rangers for a couple of hours with essential work.

Meet at the Countryside Centre   10.00am

 

Saturday September 8th        BAT WALK

Our ever popular walk led by Gareth Parkinson to observe and identify the different species of bats present in the wood, aided by the use of bat sound detectors. This event is subject to suitable weather. Non members should check our noticeboard a day or so before the event date

Accompanied children are welcome

Meet in the Countryside Centre Car Park at 7.00pm

 

Sunday 21st October    WILLOW TUNNEL


Come along and help us construct a live willow tunnel, near the Countryside Centre.Ra nger, Dave Mee will be the expert guiding us.
Accompanied children are welcome to help.
Look for us near the centre from 11am to 2pm

 

We are very keen to expand our membership, and our meetings are open to all.  However there are costs involved in presenting this programme of events, so there is a small attendance charge at each meeting of £2 to

non members and a 50p charge to all partaking in light refreshments at indoor meetings

Children are free but must be accompanied

There is no charge on Activity Days

Annual membership is only £7 and application forms are available in the Discovery Centre.
